Care4Colon is a Florida-based colon cleansing facility built upon the knowledge of ancient Egyptians. Care4Colon uses colon hydrotherapy to cleanse the colon and supposedly remove toxins from the body.
But does this practice really work? And is Care4Colon a good place to go for a colon cleanse?
Colon Cleansing 101
Those who support colon cleansing at places like Care4Colon say eliminating intestinal waste improves health. Others say it increases energy and metabolism.
Some diet programs recommend a preliminary colon cleanse to get your body working at the optimum level for fat burning.
Colon hydrotherapy has not been proven by mainstream medicine. The body has its own methods to remove toxins, and there is no evidence that such an invasive cleanse is necessary.
However, colon hydrotherapy may have its benefits. Some doctors recommend this procedure before receiving a colonoscopy. It is also an effective way to quickly get rid of even the most severe constipation.
Care4Colon: What to Expect
Colon hydrotherapy uses tubes to inject water, perhaps mixed with herbs or liquids, through the rectum and into the colon.
The water expands and lubricates intestinal and colon walls. This allows even the most stubborn waste to pass and toxins to be literally flushed away.
However, colon hydrotherapy can also cause many negative side effects, such as the following:
• Gastrointestinal perforation
• Amoebic infection
• Salt depletion
• Electrolyte imbalance
For this reason, it is important to make sure you receive colon hydrotherapy sessions from a licensed and trained professional.
Care4Colon: A Good Business?
There isn’t much information available about Care4Colon. Because of the lack of information, the Better Business Bureau gives this business a C rating. However, Care4Colon has only had one complaint against it, which it resolved.
The BBB’s file for this business was opened in 2012, so Care4Colon probably hasn’t been around for long.
If you are in the Florida area and looking for a colon hydrotherapy facility, Care4Colon could be a good option. But there’s just not enough information on it to know for sure.
Care4Colon: Our Opinion
Colon hydrotherapy from a place like Care4Colon may be harmful.
However, in some cases, cleansing the colon is a last and best resort. If you fall under this category, I would suggest using a natural colon-cleansing supplement rather than visiting a facility such as Care4Colon.
